Rebecca Ferguson // Runner-up on Britain’s X-Factor, Rebecca Ferguson’s voice is rich and dripping with soul. A little bit Aretha, a little Macy Gray a little Norah Jones, I can’t get enough of her first album Heaven. With all these contemporary soul voices coming out of the UK (Adele, Duffy, etc.) you have to wonder if this is just a fad… I hope it’s not. Either way, I can’t wait to hear more from this promising young star. Image.

LA Roller Derby Dolls // Sunday was my first Roller Derby bout and I’m hooked! This sport is awesome. I’m not going to try and explain the rules, but they’re simple enough. These girls are awesome—tough, fast, no apologies. I loved every minute of it. If your city has a roller derby team, make sure and support them.
Zucchini Bread // M’s roommate has a garden in the back of their house. He forgot about his zucchini and they got massive. When they get that big, they’re not too tasty, so I took them so M and I could bake zucchini bread. Well, I didn’t realize that 2 huge zucchinis would produce 18 loaves of bread! The bread is deliciously moist and dense, but we have so many of them we are giving them to everyone we know. Recipe and photos coming soon!
