Beasts of the Southern Wild // Magical, heart wrenching, and poetic. Those are the words that kept coming back to me as I watched this beautiful film. It’s the story of Hushpuppy and her father after a storm destroys their fragile community at the end of the earth. Only playing in a few theaters, seek out this film. You will be touched and inspired.

The Orange County Fair // Fairs are part of summer culture—frozen lemonades, bacon wrapped turkey legs, petting zoos, and those enormous stuffed teddy bears. Summer just wouldn’t be the same without a trip to the fair. We like the Orange County one for some reason (never been to the LA one) and it’s a good time. Come hungry, and bring your wallet! I totally agree with you. LOVED Beast of the Southern Wild! And owning a lake house in Michigan would be awesome! Traverse City is one of my favorite cities.
