I’ve been sitting on this news for a whole week and I just can’t contain myself anymore… we’re moving in together! After almost 4 years of traveling 20 miles between houses and crazy work schedules, no food in the fridge and marathon laundry days, M and I are making the move into a place of our own. This has always been the plan for this year, but then things got put on hold because of geography (where exactly is “middle-ground” in LA?) and then everything sped up when I lost my job. We litterally signed the lease 2 hours after getting off the cruise ship.
As you might imagine, my life has kind of been turned upside down. But I am beyond excited to step into this new chapter. Being let go of my full time job and choosing to work for myself in order to do more of what I love was the first leap of faith. I couldn’t have made that choice without the unwavering support of my best friend and partner. And when this perfect apartment presented itself to us, we jumped at the chance to bring us closer and move us along our path. So lots of change is happening right now, but it feels very energizing. I’m not freaking out, I’m going with the flow and trusting in myself to know the right steps ahead of me.
Since I don’t post a lot of home decor inspiration or DIYs, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to expand a little bit! (The picture above sold me as we were driving down to Long Beach to get on our boat. We had the good sense to turn around and put in an offer before heading out of town. And when we got back we found out we were accepted! What a great way to start and end a vacation…)

Love that you are moving in new directions. Very inspired that you have decided to work for yourself and not let the job loss get you down. Looking forward to seeing your DIY home projects. And hearing more about your adventures “living with a boy”!

Awww. Hooray for you! It is a sweet thing (albeit challenging, too). It will be grand and this apartment looks totally promising.
Congratulations on your new place. Sorry to hear about the job but remember that everyone gets fired at some point and you’re super talented. You’l be great on your own. Also, Patton is a great movie to watch when you’ve been let go. Just trust me on this. You’re so talented.
