Forgive me for not blogging about LA based Poolside at the beginning of summer. Pacific Standard Time is one of the best outside, hang out albums I’ve ever heard. I especially dig the cover of Neil Young’s Harvest Moon (below). It just makes you happy.
David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas is my current book. I was overcome by curiosity when I watched the trailer for the upcoming movie adaptation (below) and wanted to read the book before the movie came out. It’s a fascinating read so far. The story spans starts in the past and goes way into the future. It’s a little sci-fi, a little post-apocalyptic, a little historical fiction, and a lot of cool. There are 6 stories that cross each other in time and space. Sounds complicated, and I guess it is, but it’s really interesting and really good. I suggest you watch the trailer and then go get the book.
Packing and moving is going slow. Most of my house by now is in boxes, and I’m just waiting until I can throw the rest in my car and move into our new place. It’s hard living out of boxes and being spread out in 3 homes, but I know it’s all about to be over. 5 more days…

The ikat boxes look so familiar. Are they the ones from HomeGoods?
I just got them from TJ Maxx so they’re probably the same ones.
