Choosing an outfit for a client meeting is not as easy as it was when I just sat in an office all day. A lot more thought goes into it like what kind of industry the client is in, and where we’re meeting. You want to look professional, but not stuffy or boring. And more than just looking neat, you want your personality to come through. An appropriate outfit helps your client understand your style and get a sense of who you are beyond your job. Ultimately it will help them feel comfortable with you as you continue to work together.
More than anything, it’s important to feel comfortable and to be yourself. So if your debating the leopard sweater on your way out the door, take it. Worst case senario it’s a conversation starter!
