Pumpkin is everywhere right now. It’s a kind of flavor I never really crave except during the fall. Once winter comes around, I’m so sick of it, I never want to see a pumpkin ever again. But for now I’m enjoying it. I made this delicious pumpkin bread last week, and had my first pumpkin spice latte yesterday. Oh and Trader Joe’s pumpkin ice cream is out of this world.
I’ve been a fan of Brandi Carlile for a long time now (I might have even blogged about her before). Basically she’s awesome and so is her new album, Bear Creek. It’s a bit more light hearted and country than her previous work, which is usually not my style (you know how I love the depressing folk rock) but I like it nonetheless. Brandi’s voice is just so raw and honest, I think I will love anything she does.
One of my favorite songs from Bear Creek, That Wasn’t Me
The Casual Vacancy is the newest book by our hero J.K. Rowling. I’m only at the beginning, but I like it so far. It’s a little confusing because there are so many characters and each short chapter is told by a different point of view. But it’s an interesting story, and Rowling’s familiar writing style shines through.

Love Brandi! She’s so great. I’ve been a fan for a while!
Welcome to the pumpkin spice latte club
Glad to know I’m not the only one who goes through the whole pumpkin-flavored-everything-burn-out routine each year!
I have harvested so much pumpkin this year (I always over do it) that I’m quite certain that I will be eating it well into spring! http://www.flickr.com/photos/petunia21/8182306864/in/photostream
Thus far, my recipes are as follows:
