We leave for Hawaii tomorrow morning. There is so much to be done today—cleaning, packing, wrapping and shipping Christmas gifts, not to mention actual work. It is Monday after all. As I scurry around trying to finish everything, I remind myself that by end of day tomorrow, I’ll be on a beach somewhere with my family without a care in the world. Anybody else having a destination Christmas?! (photo by Waterfall Guy on Flickr)
While we’re away, I’ll celebrate my 25th birthday! I already feel like an adult—I live with my boyfriend, I have a job, I support myself, etc.—but I think the number 25 seals the deal. There’s no turning back now! Of course I’ll never be “on my own”. I have a fabulous support system built up around me, but there is a certain expectation that I have my “stuff” together, and that I make this whole life thing “work”. For an extra special birthday present, we’re taking a helicopter tour of Kaui. Can-not-wait! (ps. Amanda Jean gave me this darling birthday card. It’s letter-pressed!)
A Charlie Brown Christmas is one of my favorite Christmas movies, mostly because of the amazing jazz soundtrack by the Vince Guaraldi Trio. I probably don’t have to tell you about it. It’s a staple of the season. I just love the 3 piece band (piano, drums and bass) and simple melodies. There’s nothing that gets me in the holiday spirit like this soundtrack.

Christmas AND a birthday in Hawaii? You lucky duck!
Have a wonderful time! <3
