I adopted Dice about 2 years ago. The shelter told me he had teeth problems, but I didn’t really think too much of it. Last year when I took him into the vet, the doctor said he would need dental surgery… but I had just scheduled my own surgery, so Dice would have to wait.
Lukas & Suzy VanDyke took these photos of Bub when they took our engagement photos at our apartment.
About a month ago, I noticed his breath had gotten worse (a symptom of the Periodontal disease) and he barely touched his dry, crunchy food. So M and I talked about it, and we decided it was time to get this problem fixed. It’s expensive, but we have a perfectly healthy and happy cat otherwise. He has half of his life ahead of him, so it’s definitlly worth it to fix.
We dropped him off this morning, and won’t be able to pick him up until this evening. Thankfully our animal hospital is around the corner from our house. I’m so anxious about him. Surgery is scary enough when you know what’s going on. I’m trying to think happy thoughts and stay distracted with work.
Good luck bubby! Mama loves you so much!
